Welcome!

I’m Charla Cannon Yearwood (she/ her), disrupter of the status quo, Founder & CEO of Connected in Community and Our Therapy Lab. If you are interested in receiving therapy services, please schedule a consultation using this link. If you’re hoping to learn more about my teaching and research, you’re in the right place!

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Indiana and earned my MSSW from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I’m all about liberation, social justice, and community. I believe that we are all ‘connected in community,’ meaning my healing is tied to your healing. I see therapy, education, and effective services for the community as part of our liberation work.

Along with managing the therapy group practice, I also engaged in research, teaching, and facilitation focused on liberation theories, equity, abolition, and the integration of social justice with clinical mental health services. My research includes facilitating racial justice continuing education courses through universities and organizations across the United States.

I hope that the links and materials shared here offer insight into my work. If there’s a project you’d like to partner on, please review the services I have to offer, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
